The Bible Predicts...

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

I Thessalonians 4:17

Already Fulfilled Prophecies in the Bible

In the book of Daniel, in the Old Testament, there are some amazing prophecies that have already been fulfilled. For instance, in chapters two and seven Daniel predicts that there would be three kingdoms that would come after the Babylonian Kingdom, which was the one in which he was living, and he describes them in great detail. These kingdoms turn out to be the Medo-Persian empire, the Greek Empire, and the Roman Empire, and they perfectly fit the historical record.

Chapters eight and eleven of Daniel are also detailed predictions that, when looked at through the lens of history, are proven to be fulfilled as well. In fact Daniel was so accurate in his predictions that critics say that it is impossible for the book of Daniel to be written when Daniel claimed it was written, that no one could be that accurate on such minute predictions. What they forget is that Daniel had help--God. The ninth chapter of Daniel is also an amazing prophecy that predicts to the month (some say the day) in 32 AD when the Messiah is going to be declaring Himself as the King of Israel. Jesus declared himself to be the King of Israel in 32 AD. You can chase all of those down with some research and work, they are incredible prophecies and worth the time that it would take you to do so.

Isaiah 53 is also an incredible prophecy of the coming Messiah that Jesus fulfilled at His first coming. It again is so accurate, that some doubters tried to have it removed from the Scriptures, saying it didn't belong. Then darn if a Bedouin shepherd boy didn't discover the Dead Sea Scrolls at Qumron in 1947 and guess what, Isaiah 53 was a part of that. The Dead Sea Scrolls have toured the world, and there is Isaiah 53 right up there, on museum walls.

There are actually over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament of the coming Messiah, some general, some more specific, and Jesus meets every one of them. The odds against one person meeting all of the prophecies are so astronomical that one person compared it to filling the entire state of Texas with silver dollars, stacked five high, putting a red x on one of the coins, and picking it out on the first try.

These are just a few--the Bible has had many other predictions that have been fulfilled, and we would encourage you to do some research on those as well. We will add more as time allows.
