The Bible Predicts...

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

I Thessalonians 4:17

What We Believe

Before we start, it is probably important that you know a little bit about where we at "The Bible Predicts" stand on a couple of important issues. Since we will be talking about the Bible throughout the pages of this website, it's good for you to know how we view the Bible, and why.

To begin with, we accept a literal interpretation of the Bible. There are of course times in the Bible where expressions, allegory and symbolism are used, and we understand that. For instance, when Jesus said, "I am the bread of life," we don't believe that He saw Himself as  a slice of bread. What He is reminding us is that He alone is the eternal nourishment for our souls. When one of the Biblical writers says that "God owns the cattle on a thousand hills," it doesn't mean that He doesn't own the cattle on the 1001st hill; it's an expression saying that all of creation is God's, since He made it.

You might say we take this view: "If the plain sense makes good sense, seek no other sense." So, we take the Bible literally unless there is an obvious reason not to.

There are many Christians who use a much more allegorical method of interpreting passages of the Bible, particularly some of those Scriptures that we are going to be looking at. While we respectfully disagree with these folks, we continue to have fellowship with them, and do not let these differences divide us. This website is an attempt to give the reader what we feel the Bible predicts for the (perhaps not so distant) future. There are undoubtedly things that we will get wrong in the following pages, because we are limited by our humanness and brokenness. But with the Lord's help we will do our best.

The other important area of note is how "The Bible Predicts" website looks at the nation of Israel, for how one views Israel and the Jewish people will often determine how one views what's written in the Bible. We believe that, although God loves all people and desires all to come to know the truth, Israel is the apple of His eye. We believe that God has a distinct future for Israel and the Jewish people, and will restore the Kingdom to them in the future. We support, bless, and stand behind Israel and the Jewish people.

We believe that the next event on the prophetic timetable to be the rapture of the church. To find out more about that, please continue....
